An International Development Consultant and a former Economic Adviser at the Office for National Statistics, United Kingdom.
Kayode possesses professional banking experience in Nigeria, West Africa and the United Kingdom. He worked as General Manager and Deputy Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc’s subsidiary in Sierra Leone.
Prior to that time, he served as the pioneer Head of Strategy and Business Process Re-engineering of the GTBank Group, overseeing and coordinating the bank’s overall strategy for growth and competition across all its operating locations in the West African sub-region.
He previously served as a Regional Operations Manager in charge of the bank’s operations in Abuja and Northern Nigeria. He also had a stint in Barclays Bank Plc, United Kingdom.
After banking and in pursuit of his interest in public service and related functions, Kayode served as a Policy and Institutional Development Consultant to the UK-DFID and provided technical assistance in diverse areas, including Public Debt Management, Private Sector Development Strategy, Public Finance Management, and Infrastructure Advisory.
He also led several Monitoring and Evaluation consultancy assignments involving MDG-focused projects in selected States in Nigeria. He later joined the UK Office for National Statistics as an Economic Adviser, providing analyses and reports required by the Bank of England and the HM Treasury for monitoring the UK economy.
He possesses boardroom experience that cut across diverse sectors, including financial services, education, agriculture, housing, medical services, and technology.
Kayode, a British Chevening Alumni member, obtained a master’s degree in public policy and management from the University of Manchester, UK; a master’s degree in business administration with Specialization in Finance, and a first degree in Computer Science with Economics, both from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
